You wake up on January 1st, 2022 hungover. You spent the night out with friends and celebrated the passing of the year, and now you can’t seem to pull yourself out of bed early. When you do, you make a large bowl of sugar-coated cereal and watch your favorite shows to recover.

Your goals were along the lines of:

  • Eat healthier
  • Exercise regularly

None of them happened. You feel upset at yourself and drained of motivation — maybe even frustrated— but there is hope.

Here’s one secret no one wants to tell you:
It’s okay to start late.

New Year’s resolutions are great for mapping out goals for the upcoming year and having a clear picture of what you want. Unfortunately, many see a single setback as failure.

That is not the case.

When you have a dream or goal, the most important thing you can do is pick yourself back up. Brush off the dust, gather up every inch of willpower you have, and try again. That way, all the bad feelings don’t win.

“The best time to start was yesterday. The next best time is now. “
