How to wake up instantly is a question I typed into my search bar this morning. I had a meeting and — instead of getting a full night of rest — I spent hours exploring a video game. With only two hours of sleep, I needed a solution fast. This is my experience and how I managed to feel energized.

How To Wake Up Instantly

“When you start living the life of your dreams, there will always be obstacles, doubters, mistakes and setbacks along the way. But with hard work, perseverance and self-belief there is no limit to what you can achieve.”
Roy T. Bennett

1. Goals

It’s easier to conquer your day with specific goals in mind. Goals can provide motivation and a clear focus on what’s important.

2. Breakfast

Something light, but filling enough to push you through until lunch. There are certain breakfast foods that boost your energy.

3. Exercise

Nothing fancy. Even short walks have been proven to positively affect alertness, confidence, and overall happiness. I went for 15, but even a walk as short as 12 minutes can be good for you.

4. Music

Music can increase productivity and focus. My favorite morning playlist consists of calm, upbeat ambience that helps me get into a good work flow. I have also made a list of sounds that improve productivity.

5. Coffee

I love espresso drowned in hot water. It gets me where I’m going without all the excess sugar. A little kick of caffeine is great for boosting cognitive function and improving willpower.

6. Power Poses

If you’re feeling particularly exhausted, go somewhere you can be alone. Now, make a stance as if you were on top of the world. You’ve just won first place, graduated top of your class, and met the love of your life all in the same moment. Power stances are said to boost confidence and reduce stress, which can make your morning easier to handle.

There has been much debate on the effectiveness of power poses, so do your own research.

“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”
Beverly Sills
