The Beginning

If you’ve read some of my previous articles, you know that I was isolated for a long time — even before COVID-19. Working from home and being a workaholic led to some unhealthy behaviors. To top it off, I moved to a new city the day that lockdown started and felt even more alone. That year, my family started bringing up the idea of me getting a pet.

At first, I declined, saying things like…

What if I want to travel?
What if I work too much and forget to feed her?
Who will keep her when I’m gone?
