We often act on sudden emotions.

Fear, anger, sadness — feelings that are impossible to shake in the moment. It’s easier to lash out and say something awful rather than take a moment to reflect. This is called a Mood Trap.

What is a Mood Trap?

A Mood Trap is the idea that whatever strong feeling you have right now will last forever and that you must act on it in the moment.

Example: You have not been exercising, eating healthy, or taking moments to yourself for a week. You feel burned out and overwhelmed with brain fog. You are on the brink of many outstanding achievements and have good things going for you, but you cannot shake the feeling that you are a failure. Even with all the evidence otherwise, you know that these sudden feelings are the truth. The little voice inside your head is right. Instead of improving your balance, you drown in your lousy mood then continue the vicious cycle.

The truth is, living based on your day-to-day moods will negatively impact your life. When the world is pushing against you — it’s essential to push back.
